Vacancy: Production Manager

Job Description

    • The Production Manager is responsible for the management, supervision and control of the production process and ensuring that production targets are met on time.

Duties

      • Responsibility for the day to day operations, and leading and managing the Production Team
      • Generating, maintaining and adjusting (where required) manufacturing schedules and capacity data to ensure all production targets are achieved
      • Creating schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels are achieved
      • Providing daily, weekly and monthly production analysis for comparing the forecast to the capacity model
      • Ensuring the communication and achievement of all production goals and KPIs including those related to on-time delivery, customer complaints, defect / scrap rate, resource efficiency and material usage
      • Supporting the review of incoming sales orders with respect to achieving on time delivery
      • Escalating and communication of any issues or obstacles to senior management
      • Employing continuous improvement mindset and tools, and encouraging this attitude to working practices to drive improvements in productivity and quality, and reduce costs
      • Managing and evaluating equipment resources to ensure continued productivity and minimal downtime
      • Ensuring the availability of required supply of raw materials
      • Implementing, monitoring and achieving product quality standards and product right first time KPIs
      • Managing the customer complaints process to ensure complaints / issues are investigated and resolved and corrective actions are implemented
      • Communicating effectively with all departments to resolve any issues which may impact on production
      • Responsibility for the performance management of production team members and implementing the people management agenda
      • Providing motivation, support and guidance to all production employees
      • Ensuring all H & S guidelines are met, and any issues or risks are raised and dealt with appropriately and in line with legislation
      • Managing training requirements for the production team as required

Criteria

      • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations (Electronic Engineering preferred)
      • 2+ years’ experience in a managerial / supervisory capacity
      • Bachelor’s degree required in an Engineering Discipline
      • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools in the semi-conductor industry
      • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills – must be capable of managing, motivating and coaching individuals
      • Strong organisational skills with a results-driven approach
      • Works collaboratively with people across all teams; builds strong relationships
      • Lean / Six Sigma Knowledge of tools and methodologies an advantage
      • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
      • Working knowledge of ISO regulations
